The Donkeys : Road Warriors

Before The Donkeys were selling out along the west coast with The Hold Steady, playing the Fillmore, or listening to Native American radio along the open roads of New Mexico, we caught up with them at the studio to sneak a peek of their new record. In usual Donkeys' style, the night consisted of good cheer, Bud heavies, and cosmic jams, with a photo shoot in the men's john somewhere in between. "Seven men, hundreds of pounds of gear, and two gigantic pieces of machinery." The Silent Comedy set out from San Diego on a two week, west coast tour with Mississippi Man. This tour's strategy of hitting smaller markets paid off in new fans, cocktail recipes and a load of great images and stories. Read More...

Longstay : Homes & Houses, and Mazes

The boys of Longstay have been busy. A new album, an online maze (complete with various mp3 treasures), and a January residency at Beauty Bar--oh my. Their first album, Homes & Houses, released in December, is either a rock-pop album that's not afraid to show some soul, or a soul-pop album that's not afraid to rock. Take your pick. Read More...
