I've spent the morning watching the inauguration, and digesting the new Andrew Bird record, Noble Beast. After reading his Measure for Measure blog and catching a recent performance at Largo in LA, I've been greatly anticipating this release. Also debuting on this historic day is Animal Collective's Merriweather Post Pavillion.

It's official, I just bought my tickets for next week's Goblin Cock show at The Casbah. There are so many good shows coming up, it is hard to keep track. Check out Lord Phallus (Rob Crow) and crew in their video for "Stumped", a particularly good song for rockin out with your..well yeah.

Over the weekend, friends and new neighbors gathered around the tv for what ended up being a youtube marathon. Half of us depressed over the Chargers loss, the other half over the start of another work week, we played everything from fainting goats to segway faceplants. The highlight of youtubing, for me, was when we all tried to imitate this new Tecktonic style of dancing. Here is Yelle’s “A Cause Des Garcons” Tepr Remix.

I cried inside when my alarm went off this morning and I forced my body into business casual, but by the time I was in the car with the music turned all the way up...everything seemed okay. Here's Beach House's "You Came To Me" from their second album, Devotion.
