Gary Baseman's Sketch

Here's a neat little time lapse of Gary Baseman sketching in an old book.

I found this along with a bunch of other artist videos over at SketchTheatre.com.  It's inspiring not only to check out the videos but to also read the individual artist profiles...so much talent!

Oh yeah and here's Gary's site if you wanna see more works...

One more thing...the song in the video is called "Animals Wearing Clothes" from The Deadly Syndrome and it's off their debut album, The Ortolan (Dim Mak Records).

Tel Aviv Street Artist, Know Hope

We were honored that Know Hope stopped by our St{art}er Home event last weekend.  In town for his opening at Anno Domini in San Jose, Know Hope is currently finishing a mural on the galleries outer wall.  Eric and I are going to check out his installation tomorrow, and hopefully get an interview..!

Here are a couple examples of his work.  See more on his Flickr Page.

MVM : Yelle

In the spirit of Halloween and the quest for the most original costume this year, here is Yelle's music video for "Ce Jeu".

...the brontosaurus was always my favorite because they were herbivores and seemed the nicest of the dinosaurs.  (they are called the apatosaurus now)

St{art}er Home : Sneak Preview

I flew up to the Bay Area this morning to help with preparations for St{art}er Home.  As is the case with most Sezio events, we are 36 hours out, and it seems like an impossible task to pull this one off.  I met Eric, Andrew and Kyle over at the house, and spent the last 6 hours tossing dry wall out a window and helping Kyle lay down some base colors for his installation.

The house is a complete wreck, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.  I snuck an iPhone pic of Taggart's installation / tribute to our first president.

Just as we were leaving the house, around 2am, a couple of artists were just pulling in from Santa Barbara.  Looking to take a nap of the floor, and get an early start in the morning...

St{art}er Home will be open to the public Saturday, Oct. 11th from 6-10pm and Sunday, Oct. 12th from 1 to 5pm.

Russ Mills : Byroglyphics

UK artist Russ Mills combines the spontaneity of traditional painting and drawing with digital manipulation.  The outcome is explosive and grabbed my attention...

I pulled these images from Russ' website/blog.  He also has a flash gallery on there worth zoning out on.
