Subtext's Re-Grand Opening

Has anyone noticed that Kettner is the shit these days?  From hip furniture stores to cutting edge design studios, Kettner Blvd. is quickly becoming one of the best streets to wander in San Diego. (and it just got a lot better)  Subtext, design bookstore & gallery, is leaving their Little Italy location (pictured above) and moving into the design lofts across from the Casbah.

Tomorrow's grand opening event (6-10pm) will be their first show in the new space, 366 l 08 - A picture a day by Frank Rogozienski.  In addition to the always amazing art, Sezio has partnered with Subtext for their '09 season to provide live music in the building's community courtyard.  We are stoked to introduce The Traditionist to San Diego, a new project from Huntington Beach based singer/songwriter Joey Barro.  Check out a couple tracks below, and we'll see you tomorrow night.

A two-fer weekend... and then some. Traditionist added a fine new groove at the Subtext gallery - the indoor / outdoor aspect with live music just adds icing on the cake. Conspire at the new CommUNITY residential project with Sanctuary143 made a two day weekend that will be hard to match (until next month). We also caught the LUCE Loft gallery opening at 10th and J downtown. Another great space and show. San Diego is feeling some great new creative energy. Thanks SEZIO.
