Andy Ralph Takes Us to the California Biennial

Musician and artist Andy Ralph and his freewheeling imagination are at it again. By taking ordinary objects and rearranging them to create improbable situations, Ralph splits open our idea of the commonplace where industrial methods create unusual yet hypnotizing art.

His most recent work, Lawn Chairs, was part of one of the summer's more picturesque group shows, Here Not There at MCASD La Jolla where he joined some of San Diego's most well known and prolific artists.

Ralph will be showing his latest installation at the 2010 California Biennial at the Orange County Museum of Art which surveys the state's "most innovative contemporary visual artists."

You can see Ralph's work at the California Biennial showing October 24th through March 13th, 2011 alongside a strong San Diego cast headlined by David Adey and Brian Dick.

With his own charming manner, Andy opens new vistas for the viewing audience. He embodies the Ruscha comment about seeing art. "Huh?......Wow!" rather than "Wow!.....huh?
