SAN DIEGO, CA–Thumbprint Gallery and Sudden Art Gallery have teamed up to present a second installment of power animals in Power Animals II, on March 2 at Industry Showroom. The show is once again founded on the inherent shamanic belief that everything is alive and based in power and wisdom.
Local artist Monstrinho, originally from New York City, is known for his eclectic fusions of spray and acrylic paints with his love of beach culture, the ocean, and graffiti. He describes painting as the thing that makes him, “feel alive,” and has furthered this with his travels and collaborations with other artists. His pieces inspire imagination, fantasy, and complete freedom, with whimsical colors and an innate funkiness that can only be created by the “little monster.”
Another artist who will be featured is Franky Agostino, who is greatly influenced by surrealism and artists from his Spanish culture, such as Salvador Dali. The main ingredients of his work are women and the ocean, among a plethora of dream worlds and scenes. He has exhibited internationally in Spain, Costa Rica, Italy, Venezuela, and the United States.
Other artists exhibiting are Andre Power, Keemo, Alfie Numeric, Rejeena Victoriano, Eric Wixon, Brian Dombrowsky, and more. Live music will be featured by Now What.
The opening starts at 7pm and runs until 12am on March 2nd. Sudden Art Gallery at Industry Showroom is located at 525 Fifth Avenue in downtown, San Diego. All ages are welcome and there is no cover and no dress code. Guests must be 21 to drink.
