Saturday Art Via Bicyclette

Want to make it to all of Saturday night's art happenings but can't be in two places at once--let alone three? Well, we're right there with you. To help navigate this Saturday's art pilgrimage, we've made a little map coordinating all three of the night's openings. Begin your trek in Barrio Logan at The Bakery for some coffee & donuts, then cruise over to the East Village for SD Space 4 Art's Inaugural Opening, then to Suture for the good vibes of Endless Summer. Grab your bikes, buds, map, & we'll see you there!

1. Coffee & Donuts at The Bakery (1701 National Ave), 6pm
As a sequel to the Shaken, not Stirred show at Spacecraft Gallery in June 2009, a group of San Diego designers, architects and educators are coming together once again to showcase recent projects and concepts under development. The exhibition will include a variety of sculptures, drawings, digital fabrications, and models to showcase fresh perspectives and a snapshot of the work currently being created in San Diego. Artists: Ted Smith & Kathleen McCormick, Rinehart/Herbst, Hector & Adrian Perez, Miki Iwasaki, Rene Peralta, Megan Willis, David White, Jim Darroch, Christopher Puzio, Jose Parral & Tasi Paulson, Philipp Bosshart, Andy Ralph, Brian Dick, Jon Linton, Michael Hoffman, Daniela Deutsch, Cameron Crockett, Adriana Cuellar & Marcel Sanchez-Prieto, and Nathan Colkitt.

Get ready for a great big party and a wild art show in the East Village! The Grand Opening of Space 4 Art will include live music on multiple stages, a giant puppet army and a gallery full of diverse work from resident artists. From watercolor to oil, wood sculpture to holograms, and puppets to performance art — this professionally curated art show will include something for everyone. After years of planning and months of construction, Space 4 Art now provides affordable studios for 40 of San Diego's finest artists and craftspeople. Wander a maze of open studios, experience live music on multiple stages, and check out a professionally curated gallery show featuring new work from tenant artists.
